1st day: journey to Paris

Customers make their separate journeys to Paris. It’s possible to start the journey from several airports in Germany offering flights to Paris. Please ask. In the evening we fly to Antananarivo (Tana), the capital city of Madagascar.

2nd day: Arrival at Antananarivo - Tsimbazaza

Arrival at Antananarivo (Tana), Ivato Airport. Check-out and transfer to the hotel Gregoire or equivalent. In the afternoon we visit the zoological-botanical garden of Tsimbazaza. We will get an idea of the intriguing world of Madagascar’s plants and animals. Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

3rd day: Ambohimanga - Antsahadinta

Today we visit the hill kingdoms of Ambohimanga and Antsahadinta. In Antsahadinta we take a little walk on the “Love-Trail” in the woods. The museum there is managed by one of the descendants of the king. Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

4th day: Highland

After breakfast drive to Ampefy, a wonderful volcanic landscape. We take a little walk to the geysers. Be forewarned: The road is in very bad condition. Hotel Kavitaha or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

5th day: Volcanic landscape

Today we walk to the Lily waterfall with its very old electricity generating station. A small picnic and the wonders of nature and countryside are waiting for us. Hotel Kavitaha or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

6th day: Tana’s Markets

Back to Tana , the capital city. The rest of the day is for visiting several of the markets of Tana. We also take a look at the colonial buildings. Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

7th to 11th day: Flight to St. Marie (Stay on Sainte Marie without guide and excursions)

After breakfast we transfer to the airport and take a flight to St. Marie (Nosy Boraha), the island of the pirates, with all its beauty and secrets. There are options for water-sports, relaxing andwhale-watching from July to September, sunbathing or walking. Hotel Soanambo or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

12th day: Port Tamatave

Flight back to Tamatave. Sightseeing in Tamatave, the most important port of Madagascar. A very small museum is visited. We take a tour by “pousse-pousse” to visit the old houses and buildings of the town. This is how natives can earn some money. Hotel Noor or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

13th day: Adasibe national park

We go by car through the tropical rainforest to Andasibe (East Coast) and the nature reserve of Perinet. Our overnight stay is in the Bungalows of Feon ny Ala, with plain rooms or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

14th day: Park excursion

As a highlight of our journey we visit the Perinet Analamazaotra Reserve Nature Reserve (810 hectares). Rare species of animals like lemurs and Makis live among the subtropical vegetation. The Indri, the biggest lemur of them all, lives here. His ear-splitting cry will be left in your memory for ever. An unforgettable experience for all nature-lovers is also the after-dark walk for the observation of the nocturnal animals of the reserve. Bungalow Feon ny Ala or euqivalent, bed and breakfast.

15th day: Marozevo

On our way we stop at Marozevo, at the private reserve of Peyreiras, where the world’s biggest butterfly and numerous reptiles are raised. Largest butterfly of them all, the Komet, can be seen in its natural surroundings.
But also, we find many other species of animals, like chameleons, crocodiles, frogs etc. Continuation of the journey to Tana. Hotel Bellevue or equivalent, bed and breakfast.

16th day: Tana - Flight back to Paris

In the morning we go to the famous artisan market "Marche d’Artisanat". In the afternoon we transfer to Ivato airport where we check in for the return flight to Paris.

17th day: Arrival in Paris

In the morning, arrival in Paris. Then we make our separate journeys home to our respective place of residence.
