Madagascar is a like natural monument for plants and animals harking back to ancient times. However, Madagascar is also the native country to mixed ethnic groups and it has a fascinating culture. The paradise island in the Indian ocean has thus far managed to escape mass tourism until now. The ratio of the residents to the visitors is therefore still strong enough to be characterised by openness, hospitality and warmth. Many visitors will become friends of Madagascar and come back.

Our tours give a representative insight into the variety of Madagascan beauty spots for the participant. We pass through several climate and landscape zones on our way to the capital Tana, and to the port of Tulear in the southwest. The national park located in the tropical rain forest of Ranomafana in which different kinds of Lemurs live. Another spectacle is the Isalo massif towering from the savannah of the southwest, with its bizarre rock formations. South of Tulear lies the beach of Anakao with the offshore island of Nosy Be, one of the most beautiful spots of Madagascar. Further tourist highlights of our program include the Tritriva crater lake and the famous baobab avenue.

It is of concern to us also to give insights into the Madagascan culture. Besides the visits to historical places, a chance to see some native musicians is included in the programme and, with a little luck, we can witness a spiritual possession or a dead soul ceremony (depending on the season). Madagascar is constantly trying to improve the tourist infrastructure, but the task is far from finished. Some hotels don't comply with European standards, long journeys on bad roads tire travellers. But the warmth of the natives and the breathtaking beauty of nature compensate the visitor and change the journey to Madagascar into an unforgettable experience.
